Phases of Rajasthan Integration

  • 1st Phase – Matsya Union (18 March 1948):
    Alwar, Bharatpur, Dholpur, Karauli, and Neemrana princely states joined together.
  • 2nd Phase – Eastern Rajasthan Union (25 March 1948):
    Banswara, Bundi, Dungarpur, Jhalawar, Kishangarh, Kota, Pratapgarh, Shahpura, Tonk, and Kushalgarh princely states joined.
  • 3rd Phase – United Rajasthan (18 April 1948):
    Rajasthan Union + Udaipur state joined to form United Rajasthan.
  • 4th Phase – Greater Rajasthan (30 March 1949):
    United Rajasthan + Bikaner, Jaipur, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur and Lava princely state merged.
  • 5th Phase – United Greater Rajasthan (15 May 1949):
    Greater Rajasthan + Matsya Union formed United Greater Rajasthan.
  • 6th Phase – Rajasthan Union (26 January 1950):
    United Greater Rajasthan + Sirohi (except Abu and Delwara tehsils) joined.
  • 7th Phase – Present-day Rajasthan (1 November 1956):
    Rajasthan Union + Ajmer-Merwara, Abu-Delwara Tehsils, Sunel Tappa, and Sironj region became part of Rajasthan.
Rajasthan’s integration was completed in seven distinct phases.
