This follows the Law of Conservation of Mass. Steps involved in balancing: Write the word equation. Write the skeletal chemical equation. Enclose the formulae in boxes. List the number of atoms of different elements on LHS (Reactants) and RHS (Products). Select the biggest formula to start balancing.
