Overall CBSE Class 10 Marking Scheme 2025
Each Class 10 subject is assessed out of 100 marks, divided into an 80‑mark board exam and 20‑mark internal assessment, with a minimum of 33% required separately in theory and internal to pass.
Internal assessment includes periodic tests, notebook submission and subject enrichment activities, while the 9‑point grading system used in higher classes continues for Class 10.
Internal Assessment (20 Marks)
- Periodic Tests – 10 marks (best 2 out of 3 written tests per subject).
- Notebook Submission – 5 marks for regularity, completeness and neatness.
- Subject Enrichment – 5 marks for activities like labs, projects, speaking/listening etc.
Co‑scholastic areas like work education, art education and health & physical education are graded on a 5‑point scale (A–E) without descriptive indicators and do not affect academic upscaling.
