CBSE has officially released the schedule and guidelines for the Class 10 Second Board Examination 2026. Schools are now required to submit the List of Candidates (LOC) and examination fees as per the notified timeline.

Key Announcement: Students who wish to improve their performance in up to 3 subjects, compartment candidates, and eligible sports quota students can now register for the second board exam.

Who Can Appear in the Second Board Exam?

  • Students who passed the main exam and want to improve performance in up to 3 subjects
  • Compartment category students (can appear under compartment or improvement scheme)
  • Eligible sports quota students (schools can add their names)

Important Rules and Facilities

  • Mathematics Option Change Allowed: Students can switch between Mathematics Standard and Basic.
  • Other Subjects: No subject change permitted except Mathematics.
  • Subjects for Improvement: Up to 3 subjects from Science, Mathematics, Social Science, and Languages.
  • ER Category: Not eligible for the second examination.
  • CWSN Candidates: Existing registered students will continue to receive facilities. No new registrations allowed.

Payment Methods

Fees can be paid online via Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking, UPI, NEFT, or RTGS.

Key Instructions for Students & Schools

  • Students whose names were not submitted earlier can apply now through their school.
  • Already registered students can either pay the fee to appear or withdraw their candidature.
  • If a student pays the fee but does not appear, the main exam result will be considered final.
  • The second examination will be conducted on the same syllabus as the Main Examination 2026.
  • No corrections or changes will be allowed after final LOC submission.
